Some Pictures of Guitarists was developed as part of Manchester-based Psappha Ensemble‘s Composing for Guitar 2021. The piece’s material stems from an interview I carried out with Tom McKinney at the start of the piece’s development, and throughout the performance he recounts his own text, in which he speaks about his relationship to the instrument and his memories learning to play it.
